Many Thanks to our Sponsors
The Philippine American Chamber of Commerce of GA is a 501 (c) 6 nonprofit organization that is led by volunteer officers and board of directors who share a common vision for our Filipino American business community here in Georgia. Each team leader invests their personal time, talent, and many times personal financial resources to support projects that uplift and showcase our community.
One such project was the first ever Sari-Sari Market, Atlanta Georgia 2022 held last October 15, in Stone Mountain Park UMC. This project was the brainchild of our 2022 Treasurer, Joan Mamawal Desrochers, who felt the need to fundraise for PACCGA to support its operations and to build a bigger and stronger organization to serve the community’s needs. The organization had been relying on membership fees to operate, which was simply not sustainable in the long term.
Even though this project started out as a fundraising event, it turned out to serve a higher purpose. It brought over 30 small businesses, over 1,000 festival attendees, and Filipino American performers together in one space to genuinely celebrate the Filipino and our culture. It also gave us representation as a unique Asian group belonging to API (Asian Pacific Islanders). But it was also more than a celebration of our culture; it was a revelation to the local community that we, as Filipinos, have so much to offer here in Georgia. Our entrepreneurs, and performers with fresh ideas were given this opportunity to showcase their craft and abilities to Filipinos and all who had an interest in us, and oh, did they shine!
From the depths of our hearts, we thank all who came to support us. This project was made possible by our Sponsors.
